Title: ‘Loud for Christ’
Overall Album Vibe:
The many talents possessed by Miami born Raquel Roque Herring include being an actress, singer, songwriter, and producer. She got started at an early age being part of Ed McMahon’s Star Search show sweeping the competition having been crowned, ‘Best Teen Vocalist and Best Teen Performer’ a record twelve times on the show, before moving on to become a regular on the Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club, that has launched the careers of superstar’s like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Roque also achieved the accomplishment of being the first African Cuban American female Mousketeer to appear on the show.
Although her music is all about a deep faith and her walk with God the messages of hope and restoration found in her songs can be enjoyed by believers and non-believers alike with their Contemporary Praise & Worship style offering up more melodic tracks along with those given a real fresh sound thanks to the moving beats found on several of them thanks to, hand claps and rap vocals, along with Roque’s talented soaring vocals that breathe life into each song she sings.
I like how one of the press materials related to the release described it as, “…a praise party, ‘Loud for Christ’ is a soothing balm for your ears and soul…”
Roque penned all 12 songs found on them making this a, ‘from the heart,’ type of album for her.
When asked about the songs found on the album she said that, “The songs on the album Loud for Christ, were written at a time in my life when through seeking God for comfort and healing I witnessed God carry me gracefully through an awful circumstance. I experienced God’s faithfulness and the transforming power of his word. He has given me beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise for the spirit of heaviness”, she continued on saying, “this is the most creative and happiest I have ever been doing music.”
‘Loud for Christ’ is Roque’s debut album and it can be found on 3R Entertainment Group.
I highly recommend that you give ‘Loud for Christ’ a good listen and join in on the wonderful experience it offers to its listeners.
