Featured Band- Christian Worship Band- Shine Like Stars

This is one of my favorite parts of having this blog being able to share news about Indie Christian bands with you. I found out about this Wichita, KS. Worship band by seeing one of their videos on the Christian Music TV Show, Christian Music Video (CMV). So I went and checked out their website and decided to feature them on my blog.

From listening to samples of their music and reading information on their different band related sites this band seems to really have a heart for serving the Lord and very talented musicians. They blend in pop punk and rock to achieve their unique style of worship music. Their Facebook page list their musical influences as, Tim Hughes, David Crowder, Matt Redman, Sigur Ros, Death Cab for Cutie, Blink 182, and Switchfoot.

Band Bio:

Formed in Southern California and now dropping fresh punk/emo worship songs in Kansas, Shine Like Stars doesn’t write songs to listen to, they write songs to worship by. They hope their songs help you worship God, whether you are in a packed gym with hundreds of other people, a car by yourself or you are playing them on a beat up acoustic guitar with your friends over a campfire. Mmmmm…marshmallows.

The band’s latest release, “Beauty in the Storm,” was released in September 2012.

Band Lineup: Dale and Ashley Huntington, Doug Biggs, Seth Duncan, Joey Menninga.
