Overall Album Vibe:

The Old-Timers is a Christian punk band based in South Africa. Their new album is, ‘Soli Deo Gloria’ a Latin term meaning for Glory to God alone. The recording process for the album took use of modern technology with band member’s Dave (vocals) and Don (guitar and bass) who live twelve hours apart in South Africa separately recording the vocals and music before forwarding the music to Matt (formerly of False Idle) to add his drum tracks. The album was mixed by Sef Idle at Simpul Studios, and digitally mastered by Lanthanum at Lanthanum Audio. The album was released jointly by Caustic Fallout, Thumper Punk Records and Veritas Vinyl.

However the recording process took place the end result is an album that’s filled with old-school punk music with songs that are filled with rapid paced drumming and guitar sounds along with passion filled vocals that ooze out song lyrics filled with the redemptive nature of God’s mercy and grace.

This band’s not only talking the talk their walking the walk with all proceeds from the sale of ‘Soli Deo Gloria’ being donated to support the Missionary work of Dave and his family with Siloam Christian Ministries (http://www.siloam.org.uk/089.htm), which aims to share the gospel of Jesus Christ while providing medical aid, education and social help.

Review Tagline: If you like old-school punk music with spirit filled lyrics then The Old-Timers, ‘Soli Deo Gloria,’ will have you moshing in joy to the Lord.
